A comprehensive, sequential procedural view designed for engineers and site applicators to attain faultless surface integration using LX-7 Superflex S2 adhesive compounds.
Surface Preparation
Remove all Dust, Water, Oil & Sealers from Surface / Substrate to ensure full chemical contact.
Water Addition
Add 5 to 6 Liters of clean water or Admix into an empty structural mixing bucket.
Adhesive Mixing
Add 20 Kg LX-7 Superflex S2 Thin Set Adhesive into water and mix thoroughly until it attains a perfect, uniform paste.
Slaking Period
Allow the mixed material to slake (rest) for 5 to 10 minutes to fully activate its polymer bonding properties.
Re-mixing
Mix the material again briefly without adding extra water, then transfer the material onto your notch trowel.
Flat Bedding
Use the flat side of the trowel to spread and press the adhesive layer uniformly onto the base substrate.
Adhesive Combing
Comb through the adhesive layer at a precise angle with the help of a correctly sized Notch Trowel.
Back Buttering
Spread the adhesive material on the backside of the tile also if the tile dimension is larger than 12\"x12\"."
Leveling
Press and tap the tile surface gently with the help of a Wooden Hammer to maintain a perfectly uniform surface plane.
Surface Cleaning
Clean the tile surface thoroughly using a clean wet cloth or damp sponge before the compound sets.
Curing Phase
Restrict all foot traffic completely across the layout zone and wait up to 24 Hours for full chemical curing.
Final Grouting
After completing the 24 Hrs wait period safely, you can immediately proceed with filling joints via the grouting process.

Substrate Prepration
- The substrate must be levelled,cured, undamaged,compact, rigid, resistant,dryand free from any debonding agents and from damp rising.
- All surfaces must be plumb andtrue to within 2-3 mm in 10ft (3m).
- Dry, dusty surfaces shouId be dampened with water & excess water shouId be swept off.
- New concrete slabs shall be damp cured and 28daysold before application which will reduce the shrinkage from tile fixing surface.
- Expansion joints to be provided & fiIled with suitable sealant. Do not cover expansion joints with thin settile adhesive/tile
Mixing
- Add 5 to 5.5 litres water for 20 Kg powder in a clean mixing vessel.
- Adjust the water as per desired consistency.
- Mix with a suitable mechanical stirrer or slow speed drills (50-100 rpm) until a lump-free homogeneous paste is obtained.
- Always mix the required quantity, which can beconsumed within pot life.
- Leave the mixture for 5 minutes before use.
- No further water shouId be added.
Precaution & Notes
- Always add powder to water
- Do not add excess water than recommended.
- Never add sand & cement at the site.
- Do not use on wet screed. Surface must be fully cured.
- Do not use the adhesive to correct surface irregularities greater than 15 mm.
- Protect from direct rainfall/foot tractor at least 24 hours.
- Designer/applicator must evaluate the use of an additional mechanical fastening system for extra security for more than 3m height (such as steel hooks fastened to the substrate).
- For large format tiles or stone, spacers are recommended.
- Movement joints should be provided at every 3m specially to accommodate contraction/expansion and filled with a flexible sealant.
Application
- Apply adhesive to the substrate with the flat side of the trowel.
- Comb on additional adhesive with the notched side.
- Use the proper sized notched trowel to ensure full bedding of the tile.
- Tiles must be fixed within 30 minutes of adhesive being applied, depending on the porosity of the surface and atmospheric conditions.
- Check the adhesive ribs periodically and if a skin has formed, remove the dried adhesive and apply fresh adhesive.
- Press the tiles firmly into position with a slight twisting action, checking periodically that good contact is maintained with the back of each tile and beat in using a rubber mallet to embed tile and adjust level.
- Leave no voids behind tiles.
- For large-size tiles or irregular surfaces, adhesive can additionally be buttered on the backs of the tiles to ensure full adhesive contact.
- Use suitable support along with adhesive for fixing tiles on vertical surfaces.
- For highly absorbent natural stones which may form a wet patch when adhesive is used, it is recommended to use a suitable impregnating sealer on all sides. Please refer Technical Data Sheets of product intended for use for specific instructions of use.
- For highly absorbent surfaces like drywalls, consult with GRESBOND technical team.
- Leave adequate joints between individual wall and floor tiles using GRESBOND spacers. The joint width shall be as per the recommendation of the architect/engineer.
- Clean off surplus adhesive from the tile face and between joints.
- Clean tools and tile work with water while adhesive is fresh.
Coverage
- Approx. 4.5–5.5 m²/20 kg Bag at 3mm thickness (using 6mm x 6mm notch).
- Approx. 2.5–3 m²/20 kg Bag at 6mm thickness (using 12mm x 12mm notch).
- Approx. 1.2 kg/m² per mm of thickness

Grouting
- Grouting should be carried out after 24 hours of tiling. Use the appropriate grouting material from GRESBOND range of cementitious and epoxy grouts.
- Keep out of reach of children. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eyes/face protection. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of clean water.
- In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. Limited to professional use only.
